That's how BodyFlying works:

With a specially designed 5 blade propeller (propeller size depends on diameter of air stream) we produce a strong, regulated air stream. On this air stream people can fly with the freefall technique skydiver use. BodyFlying is something women, men and children can do. The start is always from the ground on the safety net. An instructor is assisting the beginners to start and is present during all the lessons to supervise the students. BodyFlying is not very difficult, which means that most people can hold themselves in the air stream during the first lesson. After a few flights they are able to fly easy figures. But also people who do not have a lot of talent have great fun and enjoy flying in the wind.

The cost to build a BodyFlying-Facility depends on the system you require.

All materials are of first quality and new. Wherever possible, standard products are used to ensure easy maintenance and high reliability. Certain components, mainly in the aerodynamic field, were specially developed for our applications. Our noise insulation system is unique worldwide and is used on all possible configurations. The power of the air stream can be regulated progressively. The equipment is easy to operate. The operator can obtain all information on the current performance of the equipment at any time.

The "open-air" building has an ideal size of approx. 17 x 17 x 15 meters. The indoor system has a height of approx. 25 meters. Up to a certain level these measurements can be changed and can be adjusted to the local building laws and possibilities. In the open air systems the propeller can be operated by diesel, natural gas or electricity. The indoor systems can only be powered with electric motors.

As soon as we have the possible building dimensions, we can start to plan the project. The cost for the planning depend on how detailed it has to be done. The average initial planning cost are € 15'000.00 to € 20'000.00 for an open air simulator. For the indoor system the costs for the planning are from € 30'000.00. With the received documents you or your architect can make the construction drawings and apply for the building permissions. From the date you order we shall need approx. eight to ten month for an open-air-installation and ten to twelve month for an indoor wind tunnel to produce, ship, install and test.

Be aware that a BodyFlying facility is a major investment – financing the project is more demanding than anything else – you will need a lot of own capital to be able to finance the facility.

We get contacted for freefall simulators from all over the world and therefore have to concentrate on the serious requests. It only makes sense to go further with the idea to install a vertical wind tunnel if you are able to finance a (multi) million Euro/Dollar project.

We hope to have given you a first overview to make your decisions about BodyFlying Freefall Simulators.

With kind regards and fly high
